180 Nigerians Stranded in Libya Return Home

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have collaborated to repatriate 180 Nigerians stranded in Libya.

The returnees include:

– 67 adult females

– 55 adult males

– 24 female children

– 18 male children

– 16 infants

The group arrived at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Wednesday at 7:30 pm via an Al-Buraq Airlines charter flight.

Upon arrival, the Nigerian Immigration Service conducted biometric profiling for proper documentation and support.

“IOM’s efforts demonstrate their commitment to protecting migrants’ rights and dignity,” NEMA stated.

This repatriation showcases the ongoing collaboration between IOM and the Nigerian government to assist citizens affected by conflict and displacement.
