The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, has firmly dismissed allegations of a conspiracy against candidates from any region of the country following the technical glitches experienced during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Speaking at a management meeting ahead of the release of results for the rescheduled UTME, Professor Oloyede emphasized that JAMB remains committed to fairness and equal opportunities for all candidates, regardless of their geographical location. He reassured the public that the Board did not deliberately compromise the results of candidates from the South-East or any other region.

The technical issues, which affected five states in the South-East and Lagos, led to concerns among stakeholders, including lawmakers from the South-East Caucus of the 10th House of Representatives, who called for the cancellation of the examination and the resignation of the JAMB Registrar. However, Professor Oloyede maintained that the Board is working diligently to ensure that affected candidates receive fair treatment and that the integrity of the examination process is upheld.
