In a bold and striking declaration, the President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has predicted a seismic shift in the political landscape of Akwa Ibom State, asserting that by the year 2027, traditional political party lines will no longer define the region’s governance.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ engagement in Uyo over the weekend, Senator Akpabio emphasized that the people of Akwa Ibom are becoming increasingly united beyond partisan affiliations, driven by shared values, development goals, and a common vision for the future of the state.

“By 2027, what we’ll see in Akwa Ibom won’t be politics as usual. There’ll be nothing like political parties. The people will rise above party lines and focus on leadership, capacity, and a shared destiny,” Akpabio stated, receiving thunderous applause from attendees.

The former governor of Akwa Ibom and influential figure in national politics noted that recent political experiences have shown that performance, not party loyalty, is what now determines support. He cited increasing cross-party collaborations and grassroots mobilization centered on community progress rather than partisan interest.
