Ladoja officially crowned as ceremonial Oba of Olubadan throne

Former Oyo State Governor, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, also known as the Otun Olubadan, has been ceremonially crowned as an Oba, placing him in the succession line to the Olubadan throne.

This event marks a significant milestone in the traditional leadership of Ibadanland.

The coronation took place on Monday at the newly established Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan. The brief but meaningful ceremony highlighted the rich heritage of the Olubadan’s lineage.

Chief Ladoja’s acceptance of the ceremonial crown was announced via a live radio broadcast in Ibadan, drawing widespread attention and underscoring the traditional role’s importance in the community.

Since the announcement, Ladoja’s Bodija residence has been bustling with activity as friends, family, and well-wishers flock to congratulate and support the new ceremonial Oba, reflecting the esteem in which he is held.

The event saw the attendance of prominent figures, including Governor Seyi Makinde, the Asiwaju of Ibadanland Chief Bode Amao, and other distinguished guests like Chief Bayo Oyero, Chief Wole Akinwande, Yemisi Adeaga, and Niyi Ajewole. Their presence emphasized the significance of the occasion and the respect given to Chief Ladoja.
