Real Madrid defeats Atalanta 2-0 to win UEFA super cup

Kylian Mbappe scored on his debut as Real Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup for a record-breaking sixth time with a 2-0 win over Atalanta on Wednesday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Champions League winners took the lead in the 59th minute through Fede Valverde, before Mbappe’s strike secured victory in Warsaw.

After an underwhelming first-half, Real Madrid revved up their engines and put on a clinic, as they scored twice in the second 45 to beat Atalanta 2-0 and win the UEFA Super Cup.

Carlo Ancelotti named his gala 11 for the match held at the Warsaw National Stadium, and his galacticos stepped up to the occasion. Vinicius Jr assisted Federico Valverde for Real Madrid’s first, and Jude Bellingham set up new boy Kylian Mbappe for the second.

Los Blancos are now the record winners of the UEFA Super Cup, surpassing eternal rivals Barcelona and Serie A giants AC Milan (5), as they lift their sixth title.
