President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu have both praised and commended the Super Falcons for their valiant performance in their World Cup defeat to England.

Nigeria lost 4-2 on penalties to England after a goalless match in 120 minutes. But despite the defeat, the Super Falcons put up a good fight and matched the Lionesses of England toe-to-toe. Defender Ashleigh Plumptre hit the crossbar in the first half and drew a save from England goalkeeper Mary Earps.

In the second half, the Falcons continued their tempo and took the match to the Lionesses, but they were unable to find the back of the net, with the match eventually settled via the spot kicks.

But despite the defeat, the Falcons brave performance has drawn praise from the President and the First Lady who both commended the girls for their performance.
