Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has stirred controversy after pledging a significant N105 million to a church in Benin.

Following his performance in Benin on Saturday, the “Calm Down” singer visited the church where he worshipped during his childhood.

Rema expressed his gratitude to the church for consistently praying for him and for supporting his family during tough times, including opening a shop for his mother after his father’s passing.

In his words: “I’m not here to give myself any form of accolade; I’m here to give God the glory. I feel like to give back to the church because the church has embraced me, has prayed for me.”

The donation was directed towards various projects within the church as a gesture of appreciation.
