Legendary actor, James Earl Jones passes away at 93

James Earl Jones, a legendary actor of stage and screen, passed away on Monday, September 9, at the age of 93. He died peacefully at his home in Duchess County, New York, surrounded by his family. Jones was a Tony-winning Broadway star, known for his iconic voice and roles in films like “Star Wars” and “The Lion King.”

Before his iconic voice work, Jones established himself as a prominent Shakespearean actor on stage, winning a Tony Award for Best Actor in 1970 for his role in “The Great White Hope.” He also appeared in films like “Dr. Strangelove,” “The Comedians,” and “The Greatest.”

Jones’ voice became synonymous with Darth Vader in the “Star Wars” franchise, and he also voiced Mufasa in Disney’s “The Lion King.” Director George Lucas chose Jones for the role of Darth Vader, citing his unique and special voice as the perfect fit for the iconic villain.

Jones’ legacy spans decades, and he will be remembered for his incredible contributions to the world of theater and film.
