Minister Orders Probe into Nigerian Correctional Service Bribery Allegations

Nigeria’s Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has directed an investigation into bribery claims within the Nigerian Correctional Service. This follows a leaked voice note allegedly featuring Bobrisky, detailing his experience.

Bobrisky claimed his godfather and the Correctional Service’s Controller General arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment, rather than prison, for N10 million.

He also alleged that human rights lawyer Femi Falana and musician Falz offered to secure a presidential pardon for N10 million.

Falana denied involvement in a letter, stating he never discussed Bobrisky’s conviction or pardon.

Minister Tunji-Ojo condemned the allegations, emphasizing zero tolerance for indiscipline, unprofessionalism, and corruption. He appointed Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani to lead the investigation.
