Starlink recently announced a significant price increase for its monthly subscription services in Nigeria, citing excessive inflation levels.

The new prices for Starlink services are:

Standard Residential – seventy-five thousand naira

Mobile Regional (Roam Unlimited) – one hundred and sixty-seven thousand naira

Mobile Global (Global Roam) – seven hundred and seventeen thousand naira

Existing Starlink customers will see the price change take effect on October 31, 2024. New customers will be charged the increased rates immediately.

Starlink’s notification states:

“Thank you for being a Starlink customer and for your continued support. Due to excessive levels of inflation, the Starlink monthly service price will increase from current rates. As a current customer, your monthly service price will increase in one month, beginning October 31, 2024. For new customers, the price increase is effective immediately. If you do not wish to continue your service, you can cancel at any time.”

Many Nigerians have expressed disappointment and concern regarding the price hike, as it may impact affordability and accessibility.
