Reality TV star Phyna expressed frustration and disillusionment with Nigeria’s current state on its 64th Independence Day.

Phyna argued that widespread issues like hunger, poor infrastructure, and government unresponsiveness make celebrations unnecessary.

“Only those who can afford basic needs like food have reason to celebrate,” she said.

She listed Nigeria’s challenges: “64 years of hardship, hunger, floods, subpar education, inadequate roads, and government disregard for citizens.”

Phyna concluded: “We’re 64 and struggling. It’s shameful. I’d rather hide my face than pretend to celebrate. Nothing to rejoice about.”

Her comments sparked mixed reactions, reflecting Nigeria’s ongoing struggles and divided opinions on the country’s progress.
