Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu promises Nigerians lower electricity bills soon due to improved power generation and distribution.

About 40% of consumers receive high power supply, with Nigeria generating 5500MW on average. Adelabu notes electricity costs are relatively low compared to neighboring countries, but acknowledges the burden on low-income households.

He’s optimistic about future tariff reductions as generation and distribution increase. Currently, Band-A customers pay ₦206.5/kWh after subsidy removal.

National Lottery Trust Fund’s Tosin Adeyanju praised Adelabu’s performance, citing restored public confidence in the power sector.

Adeyanju proposed partnering with the ministry to train rural youths in solar energy assembly, reducing unemployment.
