The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has given the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to address its pressing demands or face industrial action.
Key Demands:
1. Payment of withheld salaries (five and a half months) to NAAT members.
2. Payment of minimum wage arrears (April 2019 – January 2020) to omitted members.
3. Payment of 25% and 35% salary increase arrears (January – December 2023).
4. Upgrade of inadequate infrastructure, laboratories, workshops, and equipment.
NAAT’s ultimatum, effective September 30, follows the Federal Government’s failure to fulfill promises and assurances, despite a presidential directive issued over five months ago.
In a letter to the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, NAAT President Ibeji Nwokoma warned:
“Upon expiration of the 21-day ultimatum, without positive results, NAAT will commence industrial action without further notice.”
