The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has directed the immediate withdrawal of police personnel deployed to seal off the 23 Local Government Areas in Rivers State.

According to a statement by Rivers State Command’s PRO, Grace Iringe-Koko, the decision follows recent political developments and aligns with the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to neutrality and democratic institution functioning.

The Nigeria Police Force will only redeploy personnel to the affected areas in case of crisis or lawlessness. The Rivers State Command assured continued peace and order maintenance, urging residents to remain calm and law-abiding.
