Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating human trafficking, sexual and gender-based violence, and violence against persons in the state.

During a meeting with the State Taskforce Committee, led by Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Fadila Dikko, Governor Radda commended the task force’s efforts in rehabilitating victims and combating child abuse and trafficking.

“We must adopt more robust measures to protect our citizens, especially women and children, from all forms of violence and exploitation,” Governor Radda emphasized.

The task force has made significant strides, including:

– Providing medical care and psychological support to victims

– Donating school bags to 80 human trafficking victims

– Empowering 30 victims with skills acquisition training

– Conducting public awareness campaigns through radio programs

Future initiatives include:

– Offering soft loans to over 100 youths

– Providing scholarships to students

Governor Radda assured the task force of his administration’s support, recognizing the challenges posed by inadequate funding.

This commitment aligns with Governor Radda’s vision to invest in critical infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and innovation, fostering a safer and more prosperous Katsina State.
