The Nigerian national football team was taken hostage by the Libyan Federation, sparking widespread outrage. Shocking images reveal the dire situation faced by the players.

Calvin Bassey is seen sleeping on an airport seat, while Victor Boniface sits with AirPods, visibly frustrated. Other players appear exhausted and demoralized.

The team was diverted to Al Abaq Airport instead of Benghazi, leaving them without basic necessities like food, water, and communication.

Captain William Troost-Ekong slammed the “disgraceful” treatment, accusing Libyan authorities of “mind games.” The team has since refused to play their scheduled match, citing safety concerns.

The Confederation of African Football remains silent on this alarming situation, sparking concerns about player welfare and safety.
