The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the commencement of its Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CBWASSCE) for private candidates.

The exam will run from October 25 to December 20, 2024.

The exam will adopt a hybrid mode, where multiple-choice questions will be answered on-screen, while essay and practical questions will be displayed on-screen but answered in booklets. Candidates also have the option to choose the paper-and-pen mode for the entire examination.

To accommodate those who need more time to register, WAEC has extended the registration period until October 29, 2024. Additionally, a “Walk-in-Candidate” opportunity will be available for individuals who register at least 24 hours before their chosen exam paper.

The computer-based exam aims to provide a seamless and efficient assessment experience for private candidates.

October 25, 2024, marks the beginning of the exam, which will conclude on December 20, 2024.
