“If you remove Fubara, there will be consequences”- Former militant Leader, Asari Dokubo warns Tinubu

Asari Dokubo, a prominent Niger Delta leader and former President of Ijaw Youth Worldwide, has issued a strong warning to President Bola Tinubu and Minister Nyesom Wike against attempting to remove Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from office.

In an interview on Arise Television, Dokubo cautioned that any such move would have severe consequences, stating, “If you try to remove Fubara, something will happen.”

Dokubo expressed disappointment with the current political dynamics in Rivers State, alleging that Tinubu’s administration is supporting Wike’s efforts to destabilize the region.

“Tinubu is backing Wike to undermine Rivers State’s stability,” Dokubo said. “As a stakeholder, I’m dismayed by the federal government’s inaction as Wike procures questionable judgments to intimidate our people.”

Dokubo’s warning comes amid escalating tensions between Fubara and Wike, who are vying for control of the state’s political structure.

The Niger Delta Development Force (NDDF) has also threatened to take drastic action if Wike succeeds in stopping revenue allocations to Rivers State’s 23 local government councils.

The situation remains volatile, with potential upheaval looming. Dokubo’s warning underscores the urgency for a peaceful resolution to the political standoff.
