The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arrested Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, in Lagos.

Bobrisky was detained at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to board a flight to London.

According to an EFCC source, his re-arrest stems from ignoring multiple invitations to substantiate allegations against the commission.

The allegations include bribery and corruption claims, specifically that Bobrisky paid N15 million to EFCC officials to dismiss money laundering charges. The EFCC denies these allegations and may charge Bobrisky for providing false information.

“We re-arrested him in Lagos and will transport him to Abuja,” the source said. “He made serious allegations but refused to provide evidence. We had no choice but to take him into custody.”

EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest but did not provide further details.

Bobrisky has since taken to Instagram to share his account of events, claiming injury during an altercation with immigration officers.
