The Federal Government has allocated funds to settle outstanding salaries for members of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Federal Universities (NASU) and to provide benefits for retirees under the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme.

This was announced in a statement on Saturday by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

Mokwa indicated that payments to NASU members are already underway, with many reporting that they have received their funds.

“The Federal Government has released funds to address the withheld salaries of NASU members,” the statement noted.

“Additionally, funds have been allocated for benefits to retirees under the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme. Payments to the Non-Academic Staff of Federal Universities have started, and many have confirmed receipt.”
