Liverpool Surges to Premier League Top Spot with Thrilling 2-1 Comeback Win Over Brighton

A stunning second-half turnaround propelled Liverpool to a 2-1 victory over Brighton at Anfield, catapulting them to the top of the Premier League table.

Brighton initially controlled the match, taking the lead through Ferdi Kadioglu’s impressive 16-yard strike. However, Liverpool’s fortunes reversed after halftime.

Cody Gakpo’s unexpected equalizer, a perfectly placed left-wing cross, marked his third goal against Brighton in four days. Mohamed Salah then sealed the comeback with a sublime curled shot into the far corner.

The win was particularly impressive given Brighton’s dominant first-half display, which had quieted the Anfield crowd. Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher’s crucial save from Georginio Rutter’s effort proved pivotal.

Liverpool’s triumph, their 13th in 15 games under new manager Arne Slot, moved them two points clear of Manchester City, who suffered a shocking loss to Bournemouth, and Arsenal, who fell to Newcastle.
