Bobrisky, a Nigerian social media personality and cross-dresser, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after being detained over allegations of bribery.

Bobrisky was arrested at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to board a flight to Amsterdam and later transferred to EFCC headquarters in Abuja for interrogation.

The controversy surrounds a viral audio recording where Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid N15 million to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges. However, Bobrisky denied the allegations in a confessional statement, insisting no bribe was exchanged and challenging the recording’s authenticity.

An EFCC source revealed that Bobrisky denied paying any bribe and stated that no EFCC official solicited or received money from him.

EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale confirmed Bobrisky’s release but declined further comment on the case.

Bobrisky had initially informed his followers on social media about his arrest and alleged injuries sustained during the process.
