Dominic Solanke’s brace propelled Tottenham to a thrilling comeback victory over Aston Villa, ending the visitors’ eight-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Spurs reversed their fortunes in the second half. Solanke struck twice in five minutes, securing Tottenham’s sixth consecutive home win.
The England forward’s opener came in the 75th minute, cleverly dinking Dejan Kulusevski’s pass over Emiliano Martinez. Solanke sealed the win with his second goal in the 79th minute, slotting home from inside the penalty area.
Aston Villa had taken the lead through Morgan Rogers’ 32nd-minute tap-in, following Lucas Digne’s corner. Amadou Onana had earlier hit the post with a header.
Tottenham’s resurgence maintains their impressive home record since their September 15 league defeat to Arsenal.
