Outgoing Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has stated that he is not afraid to appear before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) if required to account for his management of the state’s finances.

Speaking at the EdoBEST National Results-Sharing Session in Abuja on Wednesday, Obaseki emphasized that he had nothing to hide and would willingly cooperate with the anti-graft agency if invited.

“I’m not afraid of the EFCC. Why should I be? What is important is focus. I came into office and ignored the noise, concentrating on what I felt was important, and today you can see the results. If the EFCC calls on me, I will hand myself over; I have nothing to hide,” he said.

Obaseki, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has served two terms as Edo State governor and will conclude his tenure on November 12. He will be succeeded by Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
