Manchester City fell 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion ahead of the international break.

Erling Haaland scored in the 23rd minute, courtesy of Mateo Kovacic’s pinpoint pass, but City couldn’t sustain momentum.

They dominated the first half, with Savinho and Haaland pressuring goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, while Danny Welbeck threatened.

Brighton rallied in the second half, with Ederson making key saves. Joao Pedro leveled (78′) and Matt O’Riley secured the win (83′). Kevin De Bruyne narrowly missed a late equalizer.

Despite six key absences, City retain second place in the Premier League, facing Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium post-break.
