Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes celebrated a milestone 250th appearance with two outstanding goals, leading his team to victory against Leicester at Old Trafford on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Pre-game, Fernandes was presented with a commemorative framed shirt. He quickly made his mark on the match, scoring his first goal in the 17th minute. Amad Diallo’s clever back-heel set Fernandes up for a beautifully curled shot past Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.
Fernandes doubled his tally in the 38th minute with a deflected effort off Victor Kristiansen. The Old Trafford crowd erupted in cheers, chanting his name as teammates congratulated him.
This impressive display brings Fernandes’ total goals to 84 since joining Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in 2020.
The win came in Manchester United’s final game under interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, who remains unbeaten after taking over following Erik ten Hag’s departure. New head coach Ruben Amorim takes the reins on Monday.
