Renowned Korean actor Song Jae-Rim has passed away under mysterious circumstances at the age of 39. Known for his standout role in the popular K-drama The Moon Embracing the Sun, Song was found deceased in his Seongdong district apartment in Seoul on November 12, according to Korean media outlet Soompi.
Authorities reported finding a two-page letter at the scene, though its contents have not been revealed. While the cause of death is still unconfirmed, there is speculation of suicide. However, investigators noted there were “no signs of foul play” and stated that a full investigation is ongoing.
A funeral will be held on November 14 at a Yeouido funeral home, where family, friends, and fans will gather to pay their final respects to the actor.
Song Jae-Rim began his career as a runway model and gained fame in 2012 with The Moon Embracing the Sun. He went on to appear in films like Give Me Back My Cat, The Suspect, On Your Wedding Day, Grand Prix, and Tunnel 3D, as well as in TV series like Unkind Ladies.
