“I Found a Dead Bat on My Bed Before Election Victory” —Edo Governor Okpebholo Credits Faith for Triumph

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, recently shared a remarkable experience he had before being declared the winner of the September 21 Edo State Governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Speaking at his post-swearing-in thanksgiving service held Wednesday night at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Okpebholo encouraged Nigerians to maintain their faith in God through life’s trials.

In his testimony, Okpebholo recounted how, while he was focused on praising God ahead of the election, his critics were busy on media platforms like Arise, Facebook, and Channels, doubting his approach. “I took the battle to God because I knew the secret,” he said, referencing his decision to rely solely on faith. “A few days before the election, they said, ‘This guy is crazy. What is he doing?’ But I was listening to the voice of God, and I won the battle.”

Okpebholo shared a striking incident that occurred after the election. “On Sunday morning, I found a dead bat on my bed without any physical confrontation. But the spirit of God was there. The arrow of God; the hand of God delivered me.”

The governor expressed gratitude to the clergy and others who supported him with prayers and urged everyone to trust in God, saying, “With God, all things are possible.” He also highlighted that he had not sought assistance from any native doctor, prophet, or shrine during his campaign, reinforcing his message of unwavering faith.
