The Court of Appeal in Abuja has disqualified Olusola Ebiseni as the Labour Party’s candidate for the upcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024.

The ruling, delivered unanimously by a three-member panel and read by the panel’s chairman, Justice Adebukola Banjoko, came on Wednesday.

Justice Banjoko declared, “The appeal, marked CA/ABJ/CV/1172/2024, brought by the Labour Party against Chief Olusola Ebiseni and two others, is allowed.”

She further assured that the Certified True Copy of the judgment would be provided to all parties involved in the appeal for their review as soon as possible.

Previously, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Olusola Ebiseni and Ezekiel Awude as the Labour Party’s governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the November 16 Ondo State election.

Justice Nwite had validated the Labour Party’s second primary election that resulted in the selection of Ebiseni and Awude. However, this decision has now been overturned by the Court of Appeal.
