Senator Kevin Chukwu, representing the Enugu East Senatorial Zone, has been suspended from the Labour Party (LP) by the party’s Amurri Ward executives due to alleged anti-party activities and insubordination.

According to Daily Post, the suspension was outlined in a letter signed by the ward chairman and addressed to the Labour Party Chairman in Enugu State, through the Local Government Chairman.

The letter, made public on Sunday, partly reads:

> “Distinguished Senator Kevin Chukwu,

Notice of Your Suspension from the Labour Party

We, the members of the Executive Council of the Labour Party, Amurri Ward, Nkanu West LGA, hereby formally notify you, Distinguished Senator Kevin Chukwu, of your suspension from the Labour Party for a period of 90 days, effective from the date of this notification or the date of receipt of this notice.

This resolution has been passed due to your acts of insubordination to the party’s leadership, involvement in anti-party activities, and failure to adhere to the party’s principles. Despite multiple opportunities to be heard, you have failed to respond to the party’s requests.

Be assured that the constitutional provisions of the party remain at your disposal should you wish to challenge this decision.”

The letter was signed by Comrade Chika Okoh on behalf of the Executive Council of the Labour Party, Amurri Ward.
