Nigerian Singer Bloody Civilian Faces ₦200 Billion Lawsuit from Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio Over Defamation Claims

Nigerian singer and activist Bloody Civilian has been served a ₦200 billion lawsuit by controversial preacher Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio and her daughter, Imaobong Elijah Ukpabio.

The lawsuit, filed over alleged defamatory comments made on X (formerly Twitter), demands a public apology and monetary compensation. The case stems from Bloody Civilian’s remarks on November 22, 2024, in response to a tweet marking Ukpabio’s 60th birthday.

The original tweet, posted by user @onejoblessboy, featured a photo of Ukpabio with the caption: “Pastor Helen Ukpabio turns 60 today.” In her replies, Bloody Civilian accused Ukpabio of promoting harmful practices and referenced accusations from her past, including an alleged travel ban in the UK.

Reacting to the lawsuit, the singer expressed shock but responded humorously. In a tweet, she joked about expanding her services to raise the lawsuit amount.

“Guys, they just sued me for ₦200 billion. This December I will be adding the following to my services: Weddings (preferably Yoruba), Naming ceremonies (no twins), Stand-up comedy, Club hosting, Birthday parties (no Gen Z), Settling family disputes (no Benin people),” she wrote.
