Joe Igbokwe, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on singer Davido to reverse his comments about Nigeria’s struggling economy.
Igbokwe’s reaction comes after Davido warned African Americans considering relocating to Nigeria, citing the country’s economic challenges as one of the key reasons to reconsider.
Expressing his disappointment, Igbokwe stated that Davido’s remarks saddened him. He advised the singer to retract his statement, reminding him that Nigeria played a pivotal role in shaping his success.
In a social media post, Igbokwe wrote, “My in-law Davido has made me sad by telling the world in America that Nigeria’s economy is in shambles. This is very sad. I will advise him to retract the statement asap. Nigeria made Davido. QED.”
