The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) for marketers.

Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday. He revealed that the price of PMS has been reduced from ₦990 per litre to ₦970 per litre as a gesture of appreciation to Nigerians.

“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of expressing gratitude to the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a reality,” Chiejina said. “This reduction also acknowledges the government’s efforts and aligns with measures to promote domestic enterprise for the collective well-being of our nation.”

He assured that the refinery remains committed to producing high-quality petroleum products that are both environmentally friendly and sustainable. “We will continue to ramp up production to meet and exceed domestic fuel consumption needs, eliminating any concerns about supply shortages,” he added.

This marks the first instance of a fuel price reduction since the commencement of deregulation in the petroleum sector.
