Vinícius Junior Sidelined for Three Weeks with Hamstring Injury Ahead of Liverpool Clash

Vinícius Junior has been added to Real Madrid’s injury list after being diagnosed with a left leg hamstring strain, the club confirmed on Monday. The injury is expected to keep him sidelined for at least three weeks, meaning he will miss Wednesday’s Champions League match against Liverpool, according to News.Az, citing BeinSports.

“Following tests conducted today by the Real Madrid Medical Services, Vini Jr. has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury in his left leg,” the club stated on its website.

The injury occurred after Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Leganés, a match in which Vinícius played the full 90 minutes.

This injury is another major setback for the team as they lose a key player who has scored 12 goals and registered 8 assists in 18 games this season. Vinícius’ absence comes just before an important stretch of matches, beginning with Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

Sources from the club say that Vinícius aims to return for the Intercontinental match on December 18 in Qatar, though his availability will depend on how his recovery progresses.

With this latest injury, Real Madrid has now suffered 23 injuries this season, affecting 14 players, with Vinícius previously sidelined in October due to back problems.

Carlo Ancelotti will have to cope with seven absences for the upcoming trip to Liverpool: Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vázquez, Éder Militao, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouaméni, Rodrygo Goes, and now Vinícius Junior.
