President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 11 out of 19 directors who advanced to the final stage of the permanent secretaries’ qualifying examination.
This was confirmed in a memo from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF). Earlier in October, the Federal Government began the recruitment process to fill permanent secretary vacancies in eight states.
A memo signed by Didi Walson-Jack, Head of Civil Service, on October 7, 2024, barred individuals under disciplinary action from applying. Another memo from Dr. Emmanuel Meribole stated that 11 directors who excelled in the written and second stages have been invited to the final oral interview.
Out of 38 initial candidates, 19 progressed to the second stage, and 11 advanced to the final phase. The president is expected to announce the appointments soon.
