President Tinubu and Wife Embarks on Three-Day State Visit to France at Macron’s Invitation

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday for a three-day state visit to France at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron.

Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the visit in a statement titled “President Tinubu Honours Invitation for a State Visit to France.”

According to the statement, the visit aims to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations while fostering partnerships in key areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, employment, and energy transition.

On Thursday, Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, will be formally received at Les Invalides, the historic 350-year-old French military museum, and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron. This will be followed by bilateral meetings.

The discussions between Tinubu and Macron will focus on stimulating interest in exchange programs to enhance youth skills in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. Both leaders will also engage in political and diplomatic talks, addressing shared priorities in finance, solid minerals, trade and investments, and communication.

Additionally, they will attend a session of the France-Nigeria Business Council, which promotes private-sector involvement in economic development.

First Ladies Brigitte Macron and Oluremi Tinubu will meet to discuss initiatives empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups, including Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

The visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by President Macron before Tinubu’s departure. The Nigerian president will be accompanied by top government officials.
