Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has explained the cuts on his nose and scratches on his forehead following his team’s frustrating 3-3 draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League.
The marks were first noticed when Guardiola arrived at the Etihad Stadium for the match and were still visible after the game, as he watched City squander a 3-0 lead.
Guardiola explained that the injury was self-inflicted, stating, “I cut it with my finger,” before adding with a touch of humor, “I want to hurt myself.”
The result meant City have now gone six games without a win, marking their longest winless streak since Guardiola’s first season in charge eight years ago.
Despite a promising start with two goals from Erling Haaland and one from Ilkay Gundogan, City conceded three times in the final 15 minutes due to poor defending, leaving them with only a draw.
