Ibrahim Chatta Responds To Claims Of Being Underrated, Declares He’s One Of The Highest-Paid Yoruba Actors

Ibrahim Chatta, the renowned Nigerian actor and film director, has addressed the longstanding belief that he is underrated in the movie industry.

In a recent appearance on the ‘Talk To B’ podcast, Chatta confidently stated that he is among the highest-paid Yoruba-speaking actors in Nigeria.

“A lot of people say Ibrahim Chatta is underrated. No, I’m not. I’m one of the highest-paid Yoruba-speaking actors in Nigeria,” he asserted.

Chatta shared insights into his early days in the entertainment industry, explaining that he started as a studio worker, creating promotional jingles and movie soundtracks for over 400 films and companies.

He attributed his success to his determination and perseverance.

“I gave myself responsibility because I knew it would make me stronger.

“At one point, I told my mum I was doing fine and she shouldn’t worry about sending me foodstuffs.

“But I wasn’t fine. So, I worked as a bus conductor for a week or two to send money to my parents in Kwara, assuring them I was okay.

“Then, I got lucky and began writing and composing movie soundtracks. I did soundtracks for over 400 films and jingles for more than 400 companies.

“Back then, I wasn’t known as an actor. I had studios in Ikeja and other places. At one point, I was just a studio worker, writing, singing, and performing,” he recalled.
