Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has responded to recent allegations about his purported arrest by the Nigerian Police.

Reports had suggested that Pastor Idowu was detained over alleged real estate fraud and money laundering. However, in a video message shared with his congregation on December 8, 2024, he clarified that he was only invited to assist with an investigation and was not arrested.

The investigation, he explained, involves a church member accused of financial misconduct. While refraining from naming anyone involved, Pastor Idowu stressed his full cooperation with law enforcement.

He expressed gratitude to his congregation for their unwavering support, emphasizing the importance of respecting the privacy of those implicated. “Let me be clear: I was invited to assist, not arrested. The Police reached out to me to help with an investigation concerning a church member facing some issues,” he stated.

He added, “There’s so much more I would like to share, but since this case is still under investigation, I must respect the privacy of those involved. These individuals have families—wives, children, and relatives. Naming anyone now could cause irreparable harm to their lives.”

Pastor Idowu reaffirmed his trust in the Police to handle the matter and urged his congregation to remain patient as the investigation continues. He concluded, “Thank you for your continued trust and support, even before the facts were made clear.”
