Nigeria was plunged into darkness on Wednesday following another collapse of the national power grid.

Since January 2024, the grid has collapsed 11 times, with three of those incidents occurring within a single week in October, leading to widespread blackouts and public outcry.

The National Grid’s official Twitter account confirmed the latest collapse at around 2:09 pm, stating, “The major grid setback has occurred and restoration is to commence.”
