Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has urged individuals and groups still holding government properties to return them immediately. He warned that those involved in the illegal sale or acquisition of government assets would face severe consequences.

Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reclaiming public assets and announced plans to establish a task force to investigate and recover properties sold without due process.

“Very soon, we will establish a task force to recover all government properties currently in illegal possession or occupation across the state and beyond,” he stated.

The governor issued a stern warning: “Anyone in possession of government property acquired illegally should surrender it now before we come for them. Those involved in unauthorized sales of government property will be uncovered and severely punished. It’s only a matter of time before we catch up with them.”

He further emphasized that holders of fraudulent Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) would not escape justice. Mutfwang assured that no one, regardless of their status, would be exempt from the crackdown.

“We will investigate and deal decisively with those holding illegal C of Os. A grace period will be given for voluntary surrender. However, if we have to come after you, the resources spent on the recovery process will not go in vain—you will bear the full cost,” he warned.
