Osun Governor Orders Pardon For Man Sentenced To Death Over Fowl Theft

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has directed the pardon of a young man reportedly sentenced to death by hanging for stealing a fowl.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke instructed the attorney general to take immediate steps to ensure the man is listed for the prerogative of mercy before the year’s end.

“Osun is a land of justice and equity. We must ensure fairness and protection of the sanctity of lives,” the governor stated.

He assured the public of his personal attention to the case, emphasizing the urgency of the government’s response as part of its commitment to justice and responsibility.
