The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has revoked lands belonging to former President Muhammed Buhari, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume.
Additionally, 759 other prominent figures and organizations in Maitama II, Abuja, were also affected by the revocation due to non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy.
This information was shared in a publication by the FCT Administration and made available to Channels Television by Lere Olayinka, the Special Adviser to the FCT Minister.
In a separate notice, the minister also threatened to revoke lands belonging to Minority Leader of the House of Representatives Kingsley Chinda, former Senate Presidents Iyorchia Ayu and Ameh Ebute, Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno, and 610 others for failing to pay outstanding fees for their Certificates of Occupancy within two weeks.
The minister’s action follows multiple appeals made to FCT residents, particularly those in hybrid areas, urging them to pay outstanding fees or face land revocation.
