Another twist inside the box by Salah created a chance, but his effort struck the crossbar under pressure from Archie Gray.
Liverpool’s dominance suggested it was only a matter of time before they scored, and the breakthrough came in the 23rd minute.
Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered a pinpoint cross from deep, finding the unmarked Luis Díaz, who headed in his 10th goal of the season.
The lead was quickly doubled in the 36th minute. Andrew Robertson’s cross caused chaos in the Spurs penalty area, and after Dominik Szoboszlai disrupted the defense, Alexis Mac Allister capitalized by nodding past the onrushing Fraser Forster for 2-0.
Tottenham responded, with Son Heung-min firing over, before Liverpool gifted the hosts a lifeline. Mac Allister lost possession to Dejan Kulusevski, allowing James Maddison to drive forward and curl in a superb strike for his eighth goal of the season.
Maddison rallied the crowd, but Liverpool restored their two-goal cushion in first-half stoppage time. Szoboszlai beat Radu Drăgușin in the air, exchanged passes with Salah, and slotted under Forster for a brilliant counterattacking goal.
Nine minutes into the second half, Liverpool made it 4-1. A quick break saw Díaz combine with Cody Gakpo, whose cross was partially cleared by Gray. Szoboszlai’s follow-up was blocked, but Salah was on hand to tap in his 18th goal of the season.
Szoboszlai came close soon after, firing into the side netting before setting up Salah for Liverpool’s fifth. Exploiting another counterattack, Szoboszlai unselfishly squared the ball for Salah to finish with ease.
Forster made a flying save to deny an Alexander-Arnold thunderbolt, but Tottenham pressed on. Kulusevski reduced the deficit with a fine volley from Dominic Solanke’s chipped pass, scoring in his fifth consecutive match.
Spurs found another in the 83rd minute when Solanke turned and fired home after Brennan Johnson’s header.
However, Liverpool struck back just two minutes later. Another Salah assist set up Díaz, who expertly drilled into the bottom corner to seal a commanding 6-3 victory for the league leaders.
