Nigerian singer Blackface has spoken out about the emotional turmoil he’s experienced following Kenny Ogungbe’s revelation about the song “African Queen”. Blackface has long alleged that his former group member, 2Baba, denied him credit and royalties for the 2004 hit.

Ogungbe’s recent disclosure on the Honest Bunch podcast confirmed that Blackface was the first to release music among the Plantashun Boiz trio, but “African Queen” was registered under 2Baba’s name without Blackface’s credit. This has sparked a strong reaction from Blackface, who took to social media to express his feelings.

Blackface has accused the music industry of sabotaging his career, undermining his opportunities, and damaging his reputation. He shared instances of being ostracized, losing performance opportunities, and facing challenges due to an alleged “sabotage agenda”. Despite this, Blackface plans to revive the Plantashun Boiz legacy by recruiting new members and releasing new music.

In his emotional post, Blackface questioned why it took so long for the truth to come out and expressed his hurt and frustration over being sabotaged. He stated that he was canceled and marginalized, and that other artists profited from his work without permission.

Blackface emphasized the importance of honesty and truth, saying that lies and deceit are hard to maintain. He remains determined to seek justice and revive his career, and his emotional message serves as a testament to his resilience and determination to overcome the challenges he has faced.
