Catholic Priest Arrested for Allegedly Killing Teenager in Imo Church

Rev. Father Joseph Enyinnaya, a Catholic priest, has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a teenager at St.

Columbus Catholic Church in Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Area, Imo State.

The tragic incident occurred on December 31 when the teenager reportedly threw a firecracker into the church premises.

Eyewitnesses allege the priest responded by drawing a revolver and shooting the boy.

Imo State Police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, confirmed the arrest and stated that the teenager’s body had been recovered and deposited at Atta Ikeduru Mortuary. He added that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.

The incident has sparked widespread shock and outrage among residents and members of the church community.
