Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has assured corps members that they will begin receiving a minimum wage of N77,000.

Speaking in Abuja during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company, the DG revealed that arrangements for the increased allowances have been finalized. He emphasized that the security and welfare of corps members remain his top priorities, adding that in 2025, they would receive all the benefits they deserve.

The newly donated bus aims to address transportation challenges faced by NYSC staff. Ahmed acknowledged that both staff and corps members often complained about difficulties commuting to and from the office.

Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, Chief Executive Officer of Capital Express Insurance Company, highlighted the partnership between his company and the NYSC. He explained that the bus donation was part of their commitment to support the scheme, particularly in addressing rising transportation costs in Abuja.

Ogwezhi further noted that organizations should prioritize giving back to society, stating, “The legacy of every organization is the impact they make in the society they find themselves.”
