Tems, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Ayo Edebiri, and Cynthia Erivo Among Nominees for 56th NAACP Image Awards

The 56th NAACP Image Award nominations have been revealed, showcasing notable talent across various categories. Among the standout nominees are Nigerian artists Tems, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, alongside British-Nigerian actress Cynthia Erivo and comedian Ayo Edebiri.

In the music category, Burna Boy received recognition for his collaboration with Usher on “Coming Home,” while Wizkid earned a nomination for “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz. Tems also garnered attention for her hit song “Love Me JeJe.” Ayo Edebiri, known for her role in the comedy series The Bear, was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Voiceover.

Cynthia Erivo was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in Wicked. Meanwhile, The Piano Lesson received a nod for Outstanding Motion Picture.

The NAACP Image Awards will be held on February 22, 2025, at the Pasadena Civic Center and will be broadcast live on BET and CBS. The event celebrates excellence in film, television, music, and literature with the theme “Our Stories, Our Culture, Our Excellence.”
