Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, has refuted allegations by rising artist Darkoo that he sabotaged her music video.

Darkoo had accused Mr. P of having her video for “Focus on Me” removed from YouTube for six days. The song reportedly samples P-Square’s hit track, “Gimme Dat.”

In a statement from his management team, One Management, Mr. P clarified that he only insisted on proper clearance for the sampled track. He claimed to have guided Darkoo on the appropriate procedures and shared his own experiences with similar issues.

The statement revealed that Darkoo and her team ignored multiple attempts by Mr. P’s team to confirm whether the clearance had been secured. When the music video was released without authorization, it was temporarily taken down to address the issue.

The matter was resolved after Darkoo and her team signed an agreement with all relevant parties. Following this, the video was reinstated on YouTube.

Mr. P’s management dismissed Darkoo’s claims as “malicious” and a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image, alleging that her public accusations came only after the issue had been resolved. They suggested that the outburst was a publicity stunt.

The statement also outlined the sequence of events, emphasizing Mr. P’s consistent efforts to ensure proper procedures were followed. It stated that the video’s takedown was due to Darkoo’s failure to secure proper authorization, not an attempt to sabotage her career.
