Meek Mill Expresses Interest In Buying TikTok Amid Potential US Ban

American rapper Meek Mill has announced his interest in acquiring TikTok as the app faces a possible ban in the United States.

In April 2024, President Joe Biden signed a law requiring TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to sell the platform or shut it down by January 19, 2025. ByteDance appealed the law in December, filing a case with the US Supreme Court following a meeting between TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew and President-elect Donald Trump.

During a press conference, Trump expressed a “soft spot” for TikTok, hinting that his administration might reconsider the app’s future and a potential ban.

Amid the uncertainty, Meek Mill has stepped forward, tweeting his intention to buy the platform. “Sell TikTok to me,” he wrote on X, adding, “If they cut off TikTok, we’re going to X and Fanbase.”
